Sac Bay is nice because it's a deep water launch- you don't have to pick your way through all of those rock bars that surround the public landing. There are many different structures very close, so we can get to 120' if they're deep or fish shorelines at 15-20' if they're still up near the surface. We got our limit in one day this year, with the biggest just over 26".
The most memorable trip was one year that my wife and I came up in July, We were vertical jigging in 100 ft. with frozen ciscoes and she thought that she had snagged up on the bottom..until it shook its head! Every time she got some headway and a few yards of line in it would scream right back to the bottom again. After about 40 minutes we finally saw it - I tried to net it but I snagged the stinger hook in the rim of the landing net. I had to stick my finger in the fish's gills and pin its head against the net frame to get it in the boat. Her fish weighed in at 26 1/2 pounds, but that wasn't the biggest in camp that night. another couple that was with us got one that came in at 35 pounds! You should have seen the look on the taxidermist's face when I dropped those off to be mounted!...we look forward to launching at Sac Bay for many years to come.

I wanted to thank you for making our trip to Sac Bay a memorable event. We look forward to this trip each year and not only did we enjoy fantastic lake trout fishing but the moose, canadian lynx, deer and bald eagles that we saw on this trip were amazing. In addition, the beautiful sun rises, sunsets and scenic views clearly place you in the heart of gods country. Most importantly, your hospitality, willing assistance, fun and laughter made our trip a truly special time. Thank You!!!!!!!!!!

What a great time a Sac Bay Lodge this past week. You are doing a great job of bringing the camp to life. The new fish house(surgical room) is a great improvement, the views of the lake from the cabins are great and not to leave out the lodge that added so much to our stay. Fishing was great and the wildlife we saw just added more to the trip. We want to say thank you for your hospitality and making our trip a memorable experience.

Thanks for everything this year can’t believe we are back and working again! Time flies when your having fun. I must say this year was the best we have ever had it at Sac Bay. The hospitality was great and all the updates were more then I can even say. Cant wait till next year!

Our first trip and stay at the Sac Bay Lodge and we found it to be a great lodge with outstanding customer service. The cabin we stayed in was clean, up to date for the most part, and the Main Lodge was a great place to cook a meal out and to congregate with friends. Keep up the good work and we will be coming back for future visits.

Sac Bay Lodge is back...better then ever! The new owners, Kate and Kenn, do everything possible to make your stay pleasant. The cabins are extremely clean and the kitchen accommodations were great. We bunked in the Cree and the view from the porch was breathtaking. There are fire pits in front of each cabin so you can enjoy a camp fire after a long day of fishing. Sac Bay's lodge is a wonderful place to visit with friend or to have a meal or two. Both Kenn and Kate are fantastic cooks and the lodge is so beautiful and rustic. We caught our limit of trout (thanks Kenn). Sturgeon Lake is known for it's trout, northern and walleye . Couldn't ask for better fishing, lodging, and a life long friendship that we now have with Kate and Kenn. Can't wait to go back next year.

Dear Kenn and Kate,
Our fishing trip to Canada last week marked our return to Sac Bay Lodge after some time,.............and it met all of our expectations!
The Lodge, cabins, and grounds have been given new life. Truly enjoyed the new sitting areas and fire pits throughout the camp, especially the ones located near the Lodge and Cree.............fabulous views!!
Kenn, your fishing outings were productive as well as filled with laughs. Kate your cooking cuisine was tops!! The dinner you served our group still has us talking!! Yummy!! In short, you both made us feel not only like guests, but like old friends!

We had the opportunity to visit and it was such a great time. The area and lodge is so picturesque and the fishing was absolutely awesome. We had a great time and your hospitality was more than words can say. What a great place to go and relax, meet some wonderful people that we look forward to seeing everyone again next season, as we plan to spend a week or two in June. The fish cleaning shack is truly a state of the art and the cabins were clean and very accommodating. Thanks once again Kenn and Kate, keep up the good work!
